First Aid & CPR

Miller Pipeline is dedicated to the protection of its employees from on-the-job injuries and illnesses. However, when injuries or illnesses do occur, we are prepared to immediately respond to the needs of the injured or ill.

Our First Aid Program is intended to ensure that Miller Pipeline meets the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.23, First Aid and Medical Attention, and 29 CFR 1926.50, Medical Services and First Aid.

Prior to commencement of any project, provisions are made for prompt medical attention in case of serious injury. The nearest hospital, clinic, or infirmary to our jobsites is usually located within 15 minutes travel time away. That means that they are considered in near proximity according to regulations. In the rare case where a jobsite is more than 15 minutes from a medical facility, we have a trained first aid responder with a valid certificate on site.

All supervisors and foremen are to have a standard First Aid Kit in their vehicle. First Aid Kits must be checked at least once each week and restocked as needed. It is important that our first aid supplies and equipment meet the specific needs of our workplace. Training is the heart of our First Aid Program. Employees who are qualified to render first aid have completed Miller Pipeline's first aid training program that is certified and authorized by the American Red Cross.

CPR / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Miller Pipeline believes that a strong "chain of survival" can improve chances of survival and recovery for victims of heart attack, stroke, and other emergencies. We, therefore also train our employees in CPR. The earlier that CPR is provided to a person in cardiac or respiratory arrest, the greater their chance of survival. Miller Pipelines' first aid and CPR programs are designed by the American Red Cross to help individuals learn- and remember- valuable lifesaving skills and knowledge.
